Isaiah 64:8 But now, O Lord, You are our Father; we are the clay, and You our potter; and all we are the work of Your hand.
There is something absolutely beautiful about the Potters hands. I don’t know about you but I love visualizing His hands molding me from nothing and fashioning me into something. I can’t get enough of seeing Him fine tuning me, chiseling the flaws from me in an effort to make me more like Him.
As we know, God created Adam out of dust and created Eve from Adams rib; both being the image of our beloved Father. I’ve often wondered if Adam ever felt the Fathers hands on him, His fingerprints gently yet firmly pressing His image onto him. Did he ever look at his hands and feel the love of his Maker? Did he feel his heartbeat and feel the breathe of Papa fanning his heart? Did he look at God and see himself in His Father’s eyes? Did he see any resemblance; the shape of his eyes, nose, hands, feet and say, ‘I am my Fathers son?’
I have. I have taken a long look at myself and marveled at the genius that is my Father. I have felt His breath upon my face and His presence weighed on me captivating me and drawing me deeper. I have deeply desired to know the one who intricately made me. I have wanted to feel His hands touch my heart, carress my head, His lips kiss my cheeck and His hand holding mine.
Psalm 139:6 It is the most amazing feeling to know how deeply You know me, inside and out; the realization of it is so great that I cannot comprehend it.
There’s one thing that God did for me that I truly appreciate. He made me curious and I believe He knew I’d venture into knowing my identity and persist in knowing how He beautifully formed me. I have sat before Him many atimes, asking Him to show me and tell me and He has. The potters hands are beautiful, they are so tender and His touch is something you never forget yet always yearn for.
Adam and Eve being the first of Gods creation made by hand while the rest was spoken to being, had a unique relationship with Papa. You and I are no different as we are cut from the same clothe. Unlike Adam and Eve, we were carried in our mothers wombs but it is God who fashioned us. It is God who saw our substance before we came to be. As David puts it, “You shaped me, inside and out. You knitted me together in my mother’s womb long before I took my first breath“. (Psalm 139:13) Every part of our being is known by Papa. He is that invested in who we are, He absolutely loves who He created us to be. Our identity comes from Him and Him alone.
Friends, you are so precious to Papa. the next time you feel unworthy, alone, or rejected…just remember who the Potter is. Don’t forget who you are, whose you are and who you belong to. You are loved, cherished, adored and very much accepted. Also, you are not alone, didn’t He promise to never leave you nor forsake you? Always be you. Pursue what God has given you. Never forget you are an original; a masterpiece, His best work because He, the Potter formed you in His image and delighted in what He had made. You have His DNA.
If you need prayers, send me a message. I’d love to pray for you.
