Leviticus 10:10 and so as to make a distinction between the holy and the profane, and between the unclean and the clean
1 Kings 3:9 “So give Your servant an understanding heart to judge Your people to discern between good and evil. For who is able to judge this great people of Yours?”
Not to condemn him, but this man lacked discernment and most of us in ministry have been there. God knows, I’ve had my fair share of moments when I spoke or did something without discerning properly.
What is the importance of discernment?
It keeps us from being deceived by the enemy whether we are listening to a teaching or praying for someone or receiving a prophetic word – it aids us in knowing right from wrong, truth and deception. In the case of what happened at the conference, discernment would have helped the man know what was happening was of God.
I want to encourage everyone to pray and ask for this wonderful gift especially those who are in ministry.
Psalm 119:66 Teach me good judgment and knowledge, for I believe in your commandments.
