A thank you note:
I was pretty surprised when Lynn Abbot of Through Ink and Image an accomplished, talented writer and artist nominated me for Bloggers Recognition Award. I’m truly honored and humbled by this Lynn, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You are a treasure. Besides your love for Jesus, the other thing I love about your work is the passion behind it. The paintings are absolutely amazing and the writing! ..well, as an avid reader, I gravitate towards authors who make me feel like I’m part of their story. I’m able to step into the picture you paint with your words and go on adventures with your characters. It’s such an amazing way to unwind. You inspire me.
I’m inclined to share how I got started as part of the award acceptance: – so here goes:
My heart is for the world to know Jesus, to know His love and for all to know who they are to Him and in Him. Anchored In Christ Ministry was something the Lord put in my heart but writing has always been a passion. Growing up, I’d make up stories and write them down and never thought anything of it. It wasn’t until a few years ago that God started tugging on my heart to share His love through writing. I tried then stopped because I was my worst critic. (Don’t do that).
Last year, the need to write stirred in my heart again and the Lord spoke to me about this ministry. I decided to dedicate it to Him and only share what He wants me to share. I enjoy writing, I post what He puts on my heart and the rest of my writing remains on a memory stick for a later date. I have previously blogged under eun.asp and Adopted to Kingship – which is now linked to Anchored In Christ Ministries.
Because He has known me, and calls me by name, I passionately pursue Him and His heart for His children. I have His name and so do you.
****Ok – so I’m supposed to give advice. I’m pretty sure there is a lot of good advice on blogging/writing out there, but this is what I’ve learnt through trial and error. I hope in some small way, it will help someone.
- Believe in yourself. You have something someone needs to hear or read. Don’t criticize yourself too much but always be willing to learn.
- Don’t be afraid to be vulnerable. Keep it real, share your heart. Some of our best ideas come from a place of vulnerability.
- Have fun with your blog. If you’re not happy with it, chances are – no one else will.
Again, thank you Through Ink and Image – You are an inspiration. There are many adventures waiting for and I can’t wait to step into the world unknown that becomes known to me through your writing.
Finally, I’d like to nominate the following authors for their outstanding blogs. Their passion comes through and their blogs are well written.
Through Ink and Image – even though you’ve already been nominated, you’re still on my list.
