Psalm 37:23 the steps of a man are established by the LORD, And He delights in his way.
I felt to share this for my blog today. There are some who have questioned the validity of unusual requests or directions or are struggling following through. You wonder if they are really hearing from God. One thing I keep saying, when it comes to hearing God, you cannot pick and choose what suits you. His instructions are not a buffet line, and obeying halfway is not obedience; it’s plain disobedience.
Proverbs 16:9 A man’s heart plans his course, but the LORD directs his steps.
A couple of weeks ago on a Wednesday around 6.30pm before I went to church, the Lord told me to wash my face and remove my makeup. I didn’t think it odd as I perceived He was going to use me to minister to someone. Over the years, He’s asked me to do unusual things or move in unusual ways so with Him, I’m open to His leading. Anyways, I washed my face and only applied moisturizer, brushed my hair back and left. I was all set to encourage a woman but God had other plans.
When I entered the sanctuary, I saw a father and daughter sit on the right side on the front row. I walked over said hello then sat to their left. His daughter was to my right. During worship, the Lord told me to turn and look at her. It was then that I noticed her condition. I knelt and prayed as the Holy Spirit led me. As I was praying the Holy Spirit whispered, “You don’t know the kind of day she’s had” that brought tears to my eyes. I am a mother and it broke my heart that this precious child could have had a bad day. Jesus gave me a message for her, “You are very, very beautiful and Jesus loves you very, very much”
Jesus always does it best. As I was relaying the message to this child after service, I saw Jesus in her twinkling eyes. Her joy was simple yet very deep. She is golden. She is precious and perfect in His eyes.
God knew what this child needed. She needed love, she needed to hear it and a made up face wasn’t going to cut it. God wanted this child to hear and see the real face behind the words. I don’t know why He wanted me to be make up free but I’m so grateful for the unusual requests father God makes.
Daniel Kolenda once said, “delayed obedience is disobedience” You don’t know who needs the message you are carrying. Sometimes the bulk of the message is not in what we say but in what we obey. Also, you don’t need a pulpit to serve God. Your platform is where He sends you. Your sermon is what He puts in your mouth for the one you minister to.
God bless you richly as you move in obedience. Let us continue building the kingdom by walking in obedience and trusting the One who called us to His harvest field.
Love to you all.
