John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life
This is the greatest demonstration of God’s love to mankind. The Father loved us so much that He came to save us Himself. As we know, the Trinity consists of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. I don’t know about you, but wrapping Gods decision to sacrifice His Son for my redemption wrecks me in more ways than I can explain. His love encompasses us completely when we let Him love us without limit. That’s the only way God can love us actually. He can’t split His love in halves because that’s all we desire. He is complete in all His ways. He is completeness in every sense of the word so for that Completeness to come and flow on the cross of Calvary is something we need to be paying better attention to.
All of Jesus was drained out at the cross so you and I can be free from sin and be one with Him through adoption as sons and daughters. One drop of the blood of Jesus is enough to make us white as snow. One drop of the blood of Jesus is enough to dismantle hell and every demonic powers and spirits. Even knowing this, God wasn’t content in just spilling one drop; He had to go all the way. The bible says “But one of the soldiers pierced his side with a spear, and at once there came out blood and water John 19:34”. He was completely poured out for us. That was the fullness and completeness of His love on display for the world to see. God wanted to show us just how much we meant to Him. He wanted us to know His love is fullness and completeness. He goes all out for us because that just who He is. He loves deeply.
What about you? How deep is your love for Him?
I thought I knew how to love Jesus until He showed me areas in my life I had not handed over to Him. I’ll be honest; I struggled letting Him have control. I’m independent, a go getter and it didn’t feel good knowing my reason for not letting Him have these areas was because of trust. When you love someone, you trust them with your life. Jesus being the gracious loving Savior that He is helped me, patiently waiting for me to learn how to trust Him. When I finally let go, I felt His love rush through me. It was so powerful half the time I didn’t even know what to do with myself. He kept showing me the cross and telling me that’s “how much”. I knew what He meant. That’s how much He loved me. That’s how much He wanted me to be with Him. He came willingly to take my place so I could be with Him for all eternity.
Not trusting Him fully kept me from receiving from Him.
Don’t let little things keep you from experiencing His love fully. We often think repenting is all there is to it (repentance is a must have) but we have to learn to trust and let Him be who He knows how to be to us. God. Father. Lover. Bridegroom. His love is deeper than we will ever comprehend. It’s like a never ending well and when you free-fall into it, you’ll only be showered by the purest form of love. It’s divine and holy. It’s unmatchable. It cannot be compared to another. That love is Jesus.
