Last night in prayer, I felt so raw and worn out. There are things I’ve been waiting for, promises yet to be fulfilled and prayers yet to be answered. I was tired and frustrated and I really didn’t feel like praying for anyone else. I wanted God to talk to me about His promises that are yet to be fulfilled, prayers that are yet to be answered and breakthroughs that are yet to come. I prayed scripture, spoke to Him and cried waiting for that whisper but nothing came. I felt like I had nothing else to give Him and praising Him was pretty tough but I did it in hiccups. I was drained by the time I went to bed holding on to His love and refusing to let the enemy tell me His presence had left my home. Three hours later, my alarm goes off and it’s the start of another day. School for my child and work for me.
Later as I’m doing devotion, this scripture stood out. Romans 15:13 (AMP) May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing [through the experience of your faith] that by the power of the Holy Spirit you will abound in hope and overflow with confidence in His promises. WOW! By the power of the Holy Spirit I will abound in hope and overflow with confidence in His promises. I am so encouraged. Hallelujah! The Lord had spoken yet even as I rejoiced and felt renewed and hopeful, I felt a wave of hopelessness weaving its way into Gods children’s promises, dreams, and waiting period; robbing them of peace and blessings they are waiting for because the enemy is working hard to bring confusion, discouragement and ultimately cause some to give up on their inheritance.
If you are in that place of hopelessness, hang in there, don’t give up. Delay is not denial. God’s word is His bond. His promises are ye and Amen (2Corinthians 1:20). God will not speak and later change His mind concerning His promises (Numbers 23:19). Know and continue believing that though time has passed, He is working behind the scenes on your breakthrough. He has not forgotten you. Hold on to the God of hope and He will fill you with His joy and peace. Immerse yourself in the word and when the time comes when the thief wants to steal the promise, dream, word or blessing, you will use the sword of the spirit to dismantle every lie of the enemy. (Ephesians 6:11) Put on the full armor of God. Stay prayed up, keep watch and listen, because God will speak and when we are still, we hear Him. Jesus, in the wilderness used the word to defeat the enemy when he came to tempt the Son of God. (Matthew 4:1-11) We are to do the same. Pray for others, it pleases God and it takes your mind off your situation. ~Blessings.
